Debbie Winton
Programme Manager
Earthwatch Institute (Europe), Oxford, UK

Debbie has a background in marine biology and conservation and has worked for ten years in the field of citizen science. She is part of a team at Earthwatch developing a research and engagement programme on the issue of plastic pollution, particularly in freshwater environments. Through this project we aim to develop science-based approaches to help achieve a new plastics economy, in collaboration with businesses, their supply chains and cross-sector groups, as well as to help individuals move away from a ‘make-use-dispose’ plastic culture, by integrating public outreach, learning and engagement within science initiatives. We are looking to establish partnerships and collaborations to help us achieve this, and welcome enquiries from anyone interested in hearing more about it.
